Back from the dead!!

WOW! I haven't done a post in a while! I've been really busy/lazy! The semester is coming to an end and my workload is OUT OF CONTROL! Oh stress how I hate you so! But I guess this is part of being a "grown up." Sometimes I wish I could be 8 years old again without a care in the world except which barbie I was gonna play with that day...man! Time flies! Anyway enough with my creepy rambling...hahaha! I have TONS of reviews to do so I'm gonna jump right into that!

The Pure Bar

The lovely Diana over at The Pure Bar was nice enough to send me some samples! She sent me 3 snack size bars which were perfect for sampling and a cool bag! She sent me the flavors chocolate brownie and apple cinnamon! The chocolate brownie was by far my favorite! Yumm! What can I say...I'm a chocoholic!! These bars are similar in appearance and texture to a Larabar but in my opinion they taste alot better! I don't really like the datey taste of the Larabar, but this bar actually tasted like chocolate! Here is some info about The Pure Bar from their website.

So far I have tried the Optimum Energy Bars and they are yummy! They have icing on the top and a really yummy peanut butter flavor! Not the normal "proteiny" flavor you tast in most enery type bars. I also tried the Optimum Strawberry and Yogurt Cereal which is sooo delicious! The yogurt clusters and freeze dried strawberries mixed in make this sweet and delicious! I would recommend this cereal to someone who still wants a sweet flavor but is looking for a healthy cereal! Go buy some of these delicious products! WOO HOO it's Thursday....1 day til the weekend! I'm going to a halloween party this weekend with David and we are going as Caesar and Cleopatra! I'm excited!

So I've been majorly slacking in the blogging department! OOPS! I've been busy as the semester is quickly coming to an end! Lots of tests, papers, projects, etc. I only have 2 semester left until I'm done with school!!! Hell yeah! Although I'm sure the "working world" won't be a bowl of cherries!

This morning I had a big bowl of apple and cinnamon oats! YUMM!

I love my new burgundy nail polish! I love how all the dark nail colors are in now! Purple, black, dark blue, dark reds, I love it!!

Last night I tried the best tea....Gingerbread Spice! So yummy and cinnamony! You have to try it! Hot tea makes me all sleepy and ready for bed!

Wow! I have barely put a dent into trying this stuff! I tried the dark chocolate bar and it was TO DIE FOR! I am a chocoholic!! This was so rich and smooth! Delicious! Also Marlee tried the peanut butter dog treats and she loved them! She begged for another after I gave her one! I also tried the double chocolate mint cookies and they were soooo good...they taste like thin mints! My favorite girl scout cookies! I also tried the soy crisps in the cinnamon and sugar flavor which are sooo good! Not too sweet but just sweet enough and crunchy! Yumm!! So Friday when I got home I had 6 packages waiting for me!!!! The first package was from Oh! Nuts which contained a pound each of raw cashews, raw almonds, and roasted unsalted pistachios!

Yumm I love nuts and these are delicious! Without the salt you get to really taste the flavor and sweetness of the nut! They are so yummy! I think I might use some of them in a few bakes goodies maybe! Thanks so much Oh! This beef jerky is probably the best I've ever tasted! It's not tough and hard as a rock like most beef jerky! It's moist and delicious and has such good flavor! My favorite was the Mild....it had a little bit of heat but not really and it was moist and chewy and sooo yummy! what a wild weekend....

WOW! So this weekend was A-MAZ-ING!! Me and David went to the fair on Saturday and it was FREEZING and drizzling! What a bummer! We were sooo freakin cold but we still managed to have a good time! We rode a freakin elephant!!

How cool is that? I wish I got a picture :(
I also ate an awesome gyro! OMG it was sooo good! Greasy and delicious!

David ate 2 corndogs and some fries with malt vinegar! Yumm they were so good...I had a few of them!

And then as we were leaving I got an elephant ear with cherry filling....holy yummm! I could only eat about 1/4 of it because it was so sweet and greasy! It was sooo yummy though!

We rode only a few rides but they were really crazy and scary! We also rode the chair lift which I happen to be terrified of! Don't ask why! David was making fun of me because there were 3 year olds being more courageous than me on the chair lift! Haha...what can I say I'm a chicken!

We also rode this ride called the Invertor which hangs you upside down numerous times for about 1 minutes! NOT FUN! It made all the blood rush to my head!

We also went to see all the animals! The little chicks and ducklings are sooo adorable! They also had mini ponies, sheep, goats and some other animals! They were all so cute! My favorite were the mini donkies! They are so sweet and adorable!!

When we got home we took a LONG nap because we were so full and exhausted! Wow! What a fun day we had!! How was your weekend? Did you do anything exciting? Do you have a fair that you go to every year?

So I had an amazing weekend with my sweet boyfriend! He makes me so happy :)!! We have big plans for this coming weekend to.....THE FAIR!!!! Saturday we are going to one of my favorite places ever, the South Carolina State Fair! It is going to be sooo fun! Can't wait! Anyway, this weekend didn't have any really healthy or note worthy eats...although I did have a big veggie filled sub from Subway if that counts ;)! I also got 2 lovely packages, one from Nancy's Healthy Kitchen and the other from Larabar!!! I <3 packages!!

Nancy's Healthy Kitchen sent me an awesome cookbook with tons of recipes for fun salad dressings!

I am always looking for ways to spice up my salads and this will come in handy! They also sent me 4 boxes of their yummy cookies!

They sent me the following flavors:

These cookies are DELICIOUS! They are about 100 calories for 4 cookies! The cookies are pretty small but you don't eat cookies everyday so these will be saved for a special treat every now and then! here is ANOTHER review!! So I received a package from the lovely people at Atkins! Inside were 3 different kinds of bars! They all looked so yummy! They sent me the following flavors:

Peanut Butter Fudge Crisp

This is the only flavor I have tried so far and it was sooo delicious! It has a really crunchy inside with good peanut butter and chocolate flavor! What goes together better than peanut butter and chocolate? This is a good bar to throw in your bag and eat on the go or as a snack between meals!

Chocolate Chip Granola

I'm not so sure about this flavor because it looks alot to me like a regular granola bar but it's got a whopping 17 g of protein. I will try and let you know how it is!

Caramel Creme Coffee

This flavor looks really yummy...I love caramel and coffee flavors but together I don't know how they will be but I think it will probably be like a healthy candy bar! Yumm! And it contains 20 g of protein!!!

So in other news...this morning I had a big bowl of oatmeal with peanut butter!

This weekend I'm going to the Carolina vs. Kentucky game with David! His dad got tickets so we're gonna go! It should be fun although I'm not really a football fan but I think the atmosphere of all the crazy fans and drunken fools is what makes it fun! Haha!

So I was reading in the newspaper yesterday and there are SOOO many fun Halloween type things coming up soon like haunted houses and trails! I can't wait to do all of those things! I love everything scary!

Also, the fair is next week!!!!! I am gonna have to exercise my @ss off so I can go eat lots of horrible heart stopping food! MMMM elephant ears are probably my FAVORITE thing at the fair! And also I can't wait to ride all the rides because I am basically a 5 yr old trapped in a 20 yr old body!! Hahaha! Seriously though I love the fair because it makes me feel like a little kid again! Yay I'm so excited!

Good grief! I am starving after posting those pictures of the delicious and strange delicacies the fair has to offer!! YUMMMM!

The month of October is filled with so many fun things!!! And how could I forget Halloween!!! Can't wait for that either! Lot's of candy, costumes, and parties!! FUUUUN!

Wild Garden Hummus

The lovely people at Wild Garden Hummus were gracious enough to send me 6 jars of their hummus!

But this hummus is different because it is shelf stable for up to 12 months, but once you open it you need to refrigerate it! It comes in a glass jar and is all natural! This snack is also gluten free and vegan and vegetarian friendly! This hummus is perfect for dipping with pita chips or pretzels and it is also a good alternative to mayo on your sandwiches! So I received a package a while ago from the wonderful Lindsay at POM ! It was a package of 8 mini bottles of POM juice!

Wow this stuff is strong!!! It would taste really good probably mixed in water or maybe a mixed drink ;) This juice is packed full of good for you antioxidants!! Yesterday I received a package from the lovely people over at 18 Rabbits! It contained 4 granola bars in these flavors:

I tried the Cheeky Cherry Chocolate and it was soooo good! The addition of chocolate in this granola bar makes it taste so yummy! I don't know why it's called cherry because in the ingredients it says cranberries but I don't care because it tastes SOO yummy!!

I haven't tried the other flavors yet but in the package was also a nice hand written note, some cool buttons, and some cool stickers! Thanks 18 Rabbits! These bars are chewy and delicious! Go buy some....you won't regret it! Yumm!

I also got a package from Kopali Organics!! It contained a package of their yummy dried organic mango!

They also sent me a pack of their organic mix! It contains goji berries, cacao nibs, mulberries and pistachios! I haven't tried it yet but it looks delicious!!

The last package I received yesterday was from Dr. Kracker! Wow they sent me a TON of crackers! I was surprised at the size of the package! Thanks sooo much Dr. Kracker...I really appreciate it!! I think they sent me every flavor they have which includes:

So I decided to squeeze in another review while I have some time! I received a package last week from Madhouse Munchies! They sent me a HUGE box of all their chips! Their flavors include:

My favorite flavor was creamy french onion which tastes just like sour cream and onion chips! My boyfriend tried the BBQ and he said they were really good! Hey guys! Sorry I've been MIA the past few days! I've just been busy and/or tired!! You know how it goes!! So here is a recap of the past day or two with some reviews thrown in!

So yesterday afternoon I went to Target and bought a beautiful pink exercise mat, a set of 3lb weights and Jillian Michaels No More Trouble Zones DVD!

Holy sh*t....Jillian Michaels is a BEAST!! I was practically dead after the first 10 minutes!! Talk about feeling the burn! I sure as hell felt it! She combines cardio with strength training and trains multiple muscle groups at a time.....this DVD is HARD! It starts with a 5 minute warm up, then a 30 minutes circuit workout, then a 5 minute cool down! My abs, thighs, arms, and butt are sooo super sore today! If you wanna whip your @ss into shape fast then go buy this DVD! I swear you will feel the burn! I would die for Jillians ripped body...that girl must be doing something right!!

Anyway on to FOOD REVIEWS:

Another company that was so gracious to send me some samples was Don Sabrosa!! They sent me 6 flavors of their AWESOME salsa!! They are:

OMG! These salsas are seriously the BEST I have ever tasted! They tastes soo fresh and delicious! Everyone that I let try the salsas raved about how it was the best salsa they have ever had! My favorite flavor by far was the Hot Roast Garlic flavor! It tasted garlicky but no overwhelming! And I love the hot because it has a kick but not so much that you are sweating bullets!

At first I was kind of afraid of the blueberries, peaches, and honey flavor but when I tried the hot jar it tasted suprisingly good! I thought it would be overly sweet but it was perfect! I woke up this morning to the peaceful sound of rain! When it's raining outside I can never seem to get out of bed! And if any of ya'll are like me rain always equals a BAD HAIR DAY!! Ahh! Anyway weekend recap:

Friday night David and I went bowling! Bowling is pretty fun but we quickly discovered that we both really suck at it. Our score combined wasn't even equivalent to one person's score that is just OK at bowling...hahahaha! It was still fun anyway!

Then Saturday we went SHOPPING! My favorite thing ever!! I got a pair of Rock and Republic jeans that i'm basically in love with.

(P.S. this is obviously NOT my butt..haha)

David got a pair of jeans and a pair of shoes. Then we went to Chic-fil-a which isn't exactly "healthy" but it was still really yummy!!

Then sunday we went shopping again!! I know a bit excessive but I love shoppping. I got 4 shirts from American Eagle but they were all on sale so I didn't really spend too much.

After that we went to this place called Which Wich....it's basically like subway because you pick what you want on your sandwich but a little but nicer but also a little more expensive. It was really yummy too!

I also washed and vaccumed my car and shampooed the carpets! It smells so clean now!

So it's Monday and now it's back to the grind!! For breakfast I had a big bowl of Banana Bread Oatmeal! MMMM sooo good!

This bowl had:

Yay! I love thrusdays because when I go to bed tonight and wake up in the mornin it will be FRIDAY!!! I love the weekends! It means time to relax and spend time with David! Perfection! Poor David is sick AGAIN! He told me he lost 15 freakin lbs when he got the swine flu! Good grief....looks like I need to make him some fattening food..hehe!

To celebrate fall I had a steaming cup of lemon tea! It was so good!

Oatmeal makes it better

So this lovely cool fall morning I had a big steaming bowl of oatmeal for breakfast! This lovely mix included:

1/2 cup oats
1 cup water
1/2 an apple
1/2 a box of raisins
1 giant blob Crazy Richard's peanut butter (crunchy)
sprinkling of cinnamon

Yummy in my tummy! These oats were so delicious and now my belly is nice and full!

So on another note I am in LOVE with my car! It's so awesome and I'm so glad to finally have a car that I paid for ALL BY MYSELF!! Feels good! :)

So the weekend is rapidly approaching and I can't wait!! I think me and David might go bowling since we haven't been in like forever! Bowling is fun but I hate wearing those ick nasty shoes...gross! Anyway catch ya around lunch time! Byyye!

So I am having the BEST DAY EVER! I got my car today!!! I almost peed my pants with excitement!! I haven't really had any blog worthy eats today but I did just have a random bowl of oats which contained:

It was sooo yummy and perfect for this chilly weather outside! I LOOOOVE fall weather because it's cool enough to wear cute sweaters and jackets! And also in SC we have the fair in October which I looove! The rides, the food, the carnies...hahaha! Ok maybe not so much the carnies because they are kind of creeptastic but I still love the fair! And of course HALLOWEEN which is one of my favorite holidays. Any holiday that involves candy and costumes is right up my alley! Haha well I'm gonna go cram for my test tonight! Wish me luck! I said I got 2 packages earlier but I forgot to say what the other one was! I got this awesome pump olive oil sprayer from the lovely people over at Gourme Mist! It's so cool and I can't wait to try it! They also have flavored balsamic vinegar...mmm!

Go check it out!! So tonight I did a little online shopping and found a pair of Seven jeans for $63!!!! Now anyone who loves designer jeans knows this is a STEAL! Can't wait to get them!

Amazon.com is the way to go babayyy! I also got a bottle of Guess perfume for only $23!! I know I have paid at least $50 for it at department stores! I <3 online shopping!!

So tonight for dinner I had a delicious turkey burger on an Arnold's sandwich thin (whole wheat) and a few french fries(naughty) with ketchup of course!

And with it I tried one of the Vitamin waters I got the other day...it was green tea and it was so good! I has a minty taste to it that I really like!

I also got 2 awesome packages today!!! One was from the awesome people over at POP CHIPS...and it included all 6 flavors they have!

I'm getting my car!!! AHHHHHHHH so excited! I'm not gonna be able to sleep tonight ;)!! So for lunch today I had the yummiest salad that contained:

It was sooo good! Adding chicken makes it extra filling and there may or may not have been a piece of whole wheat toast consumed but not photographed..hehe! Or almost afternoon now...wishing I was still in bed! I feel like I never get enough sleep except on the weekends, and then I get TOO MUCH! Wish nap time was still around...wow how I miss being a little tot. Anyway this mornings breakfast consisted of low fat vanilla yogurt, 1/2 an apple, 1/2 a banana, sprinkling of Kashi Go Lean Crunch! Yummm!

What's your favorite thing to have for breakfast? I think mine is probably oatmeal with PB mixed in...note to self: get more oatmeal! Well nothing too exciting going on right now but I will catch ya later for some lunch time entertainment! BYYYE!

Brain Dead...

So these pain pills and muscle relaxers for my neck make me totally loopy....I can't remember sh*t...idk if that has to do with these pills or I'm just 85 in my mind. I didn't really take any pics of din din or snacks because I was in class from 6:00- 8:45 pm! Bummer! But I did have a little bit of chicken alfredo and broccoli...ultra yummy...healthy...not so much!! When I got home I had a package waiting for me!! It had all the new flavors of vitamin water!! I love that stuff!!

I put them in the fridge so they can get cold but I can't wait to try them! They look so yummy! I also got a coupon in the mail for a free bottle of Synergy Kombucha! Not gonna lie...I'm kind of scared to try it because I've heard mixed reviews. Have you ever tried it? What's the best flavor? At least the bottle looks pretty...

So I've been thinking Halloween is coming up soon and that means parties...woo hoo! But I don't know what me and David should be...yes we're gonna match hahaha! cute or gag? This is what we were last year:

So for lunch I had an XL salad...it contained: spinach, cukes, plum tomato, celery, feta, a tiny bit of italian dressing. I love celery and I don't know why...it doesn't have a particularly good taste but it's so crunchy and watery...I could eat that stuff all day! And add a little peanut butter....heaven! I also may or may not have had a small sliver of coconut pie ;)

It seems like everytime I blink the weekend is over and it's Monday again! Ahh I am not a fan of Mondays at all! But I am excited because I'm getting my CAR this week!!!!!! Check out this beauty:

I had some on a toasted Arnold's sandwich thin and it was really good! I LOVE blogging...it's my new favorite thing. What did I do before I discovered blogging?? Well anyway even though Monday's suck this week is gonna be awesome because I'm getting the car, I'm expecting some packages, and then the weekend will be here!! So quick question...what is a MUST HAVE fall accessory for you? I think I'm gonna break down and spend $180 on a pair of tall Uggs! I'm torn between beige or chestnut OR chocolate! Hey ya'll! So I'm FINALLY feeling better after my neck injury! The pain has mostly gone away, but I have to go back to the Dr. next week to make sure everything is good! Saturday was Marlee's 1st birthday!! I can't believe David has already had Marlee for a whole year! Here is a picture of her when she was just 8 weeks old!! SOOOO precious! She fit right in your hand!

Marlee is the sweetest, cutest puppy in the world! I love her to death! Here's a picture of Marlee all grown up now!

Haha well moving on from my obvious Marlee obsession....

The AWESOME people over at GNU Foods sent me a package of their bars to try! Getting packages in the mail is like Christmas! It never gets old! The bars come in a few different flavors:

Orange Cranberry
Banana Walnut
Cinnamon Raisin
Chocolate Brownie
Peanut Butter
Lemon Ginger
Espresso Chip

The bars are vegan and kosher and contain 12 grams of fiber per bar! They really pack the fiber in and they are made with 6 whole grains! They are sweetened with fruit juice and contain no high fructose corn syrup.

I've only tried a few of the flavors so far but my favorite is Banana Walnut! It tastes just like banana bread and it's so yummy!!

I also tried Peanut Butter and Chocolate Brownie...both are equally delicious! These have good flavor unlike most fiber bars that taste like cardboard! I would recommend buying these because they are really yummy!

I also got another envelope in the mail which had a coupon for a free tub of Tribe hummus! Thanks so much to the lovely people at Tribe! I chose the Roasted Garlic flavor which was FAB! So good and garlicky just the way I like it!

I like Tribe because it's thicker than Sabra and I don't like my hummus as creamy. I like it to have a little more texture and this was just perfect! And of course pretzels are the perfect vehicle for hummus consumption!

So I have come to the conclusion that Tribe hummus > Sabra! Can't wait to try out the other flavors Tribe has to offer! Yummm!

Oh my gosh my neck is in SOOO much pain!! The painkillers don't seem to ease all of the pain and the muscle relaxers don't make me drowsy so it's impossible to sleep!! I hope I have a quick recovery because wearing this neck brace is awful! It's hot and sweaty!

This morning I made the most delicious breakfast! Meet the spinach and feta omlette...yumm! I made it with 2 eggs but it turned out huge!! But it was sooo good!

Well I'm not gonna be able to do much today because of my neck...the doctor said I can't exercise for 2 weeks!! Right when I was getting in the swing of things this has to happen. It's the pits but it's my own fault. I just hope I get to feeling better soon! Oh and it turns out david has the SWINE FLU! I pray to God that I don't get that on top of my injury. Then it really would be a living hell! He got tamiflu so he should get to feeling better pretty soon, I hope! So my life is a mess right now but hopefully things will start to get back to normal soon!

Neck Injury

Ok so today a disaster happened....while I was doing crunches I heard a horrible noise come from my neck and the next thing I felt was searing pain!!! I cried and screamed for about an hour until I made it to the doctor and it turns out I have a severe muscle spasm and slightly fractured a bone in my neck!!! Holy sh*t it seriously hurts bad! Muscle relaxers and pain killers are a God send!! So needless to say I will probably be MIA for a couple of days because it hurts to sit at the computer chair. Say a little prayer for me that I can heal quickly! Byyye for now!

I can't believe it's already Wednesday!! Which means closer to Friday... :)!! Last night I didn't post because I took my boy a sick care package! Poor thing is sick with something...I think the flu. So I brought him some soup, tissues, hand sanitizer(!), gatorade, cough drops, some medicines...hope that helps! I sure as hell hope I don't get sick now!!

Well anyway for breakfast this morning I had an extra exciting piece of toast with strawberry preserves!Yummm!

Fall is my favorite season!!!

The cool weather, the colors changing, halloween, the fair, thanksgiving!!! So many good things happen in the fall that I'm excited about! Another thing happens in the fall....THE FLU!!! My poor boy is coming down with the flu! :( Poor thing! The flu sucks so much and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy! Hope you feel better boo!

Anyway for lunch I had a yummy salad and a peace of multi grain bread (carbaholic)!

The salad had a spring mix(a bunch of funky shaped leaves and random red ones), feta, cukes, and a teeney bit of italian dressing.

So i've just been catching up on school work, emails, other blogs, etc today...nothing too exciting! Dealing with Granny's antics...NOT FUN! And doing some random exercises. I lead such an exciting life! Not..hhaha

So last night I finally clocked in about 6 hours of good sleep! Thank goodness because I was starting to drag!

So I don't think I've stated before my goals for this blog and myself so here there are....

For the blog:

Use it as a tool to keep myself accountable for my exercise and eating habits
Possibly make new friends
Use it as a journal
Have fun with it!!

For myself:

Lose weight....approx. 20 lbs
Get fit
Maintain that fitness
Eat healthier
Learn to really enjoy exercise and fitness
Learn to enjoy healthy food so it doesn't seem like a "diet" but a lifestyle change

So yep those are my goals! Well anyway this morning I had a bowl of low fat vanilla yogurt with strawberries and Kashi Go Lean...YUM! It was really filling but I wish I had some more greek yogurt because that stuff is good!

Ok sorry, I'm gonna start posting better pictures! I have a camera but I always use my camera phone for convenience but the pictures are kind of blurry and dark so I guess I will have to start using my camera!

TARGET!!! I can never leave that place without spending at least $50! And all of it is stuff I don't really need but I still love Target....def. on my top 10 favorite stores ever! Also, did you know they now sell Ralph Lauren perfume at Target...WTF??!? Miracle? I think so! I usually pay like $70-80 at a department store for that liquid gold and it was only $34.99 at Target!!!! Amazing! Ok so moving away from my Target obsession....

I got a copy of Shape magazine today and let me just say Jennifer Love Hewitt is one smokin hot babe! That girl has curves for days but she still looks toned and sexy....dream body! Screw all the haters that call her fat...she is beautiful and curvacious like a woman is supposed to be! I like to call her the other J.Lo...hahahah I'm such a dork!!

So tonight I did 2 miles!! Sweet Jesus...for me that is amazing! Lil Wayne is the BEST running music ever....it def. gets me pumped up! I also did approx. a bajillion crunches..haha! I am dying for a flat tummy and will do anything to get half way there! Tonight for dinner I had a leftover spinach, feta, sun dried tomato turkey burger on an Arnold's Sandwich Thin (multi grain)...but I forgot a pic...oops :(!

Can you please return to my life!! So last night I went to bed at 11:00 pm and I literally tossed and turned until 3:00 am!!! I was so sleepy when I woke up this morning! I can't figure out why I haven't been able to sleep. I do a hard workout, I drink tea, I read, I turn off my tv!! I've been trying everything and nothing seems to work....oh well maybe tonight will be the night!

Meet Petunia...

Ok so I've been MIA this weekend but since nobody reads this I guess it doesn't really matter..haha! So I went to the Greek Festival but I forgot to take pictures!! It was soooo crowded but the gyro I got was soooo worth it...it was so freakin good! David (my boyfriend) also got a baklava sundae but I only had a few bites. It was a fun night overall despite the crowd.

So we didn't end up going to the dog park, but there is always next weekend. David kept telling me he had a surprise for me and I kept trying to guess what it was. Well we got to his house and I see this little white mouse...that was my surprise! WTF David....I have no idea why he thought I wanted a mouse but for some reason he did. He got it from his friend who has snakes so the mouse was gonna face certain death anyway. I named it Petunia but I did not plan on keeping it! I held her and she pooped on me....SICK!! We let the mouse go which I felt kind of bad about but it was gonna get eaten anyway so at least it had a shot at life!! Poor Petunia! Marlee just sat and stared at Petunia for hours!! She wanted to eat Petunia up...silly Marlee!!

So last night I was watching a rerun of the Biggest Loser and bawling my eyes out. That show and everyone's stories are so emotional. The good thing is that the show is very motivational and it really gives me inspiration to work hard because I could be alot worse off! Tonight I did a hard workout, for me at least. I ran about 1.5 miles then came home and did about 30 pushups (OUCH), 100 crunches, some squats and side kicks, and then lifted some weights! By the time I was done I was sweating like crazy and soooo tired! I waited about an hour after to eat because I was so worn out I wasn't even hungry. I ate a huge salad and some other things my mom fixed.

This salad had lettuce, broccoli, cukes, tomatoes, baby carrots, feta, and a little bit of greek dressing...yumm!

Then some green beans, squash, mashed potatoes, and a little bit of meatloaf. I ate all the veggies and some of the meatloaf and mashed potatoes because I was pretty full from all that salad.

Oh and David wanted me to mention on here the burgers I made the other night...but sadly I don't have a picture. I decided to make turkey burgers with sun dried tomatoes, spinach, and feta in them. They were sooo juicy and delicious, although I did notice feta doesn't taste quite the same when it's cooked but it was still delicious! And I also bought some Arnold's Sandwich Thins (multi grain) to try with them and I love them! No wonder so many bloggies eat them...they were so good and only 100 calories! My new favorite bread.

Anyway I must get to studying for my Intro to Law and Ethics test tomorrow! See ya tomorrow!!

Do you ever have those days where you just feel like total and complete crap for no reason? Nothing can make you happy...all you want to do is curl up into a ball and feel sorry for yourself. Well today is one of those days for me. I just feel like nothing is really going my way and there isn't anything I can do about it. I hate to be a whiner...actually I don't because I whine and bitch all the time but I just need to vent and I know nobody wants to listen to it. I need to get out of this mood before tonight so I can go have fun with my boo and friends at the greek fest.

On to a new subject...I need to get some readers! I want to do a giveaway but that's kind of pointless if nobody even sees it..haha! Anybody have some tips on how to get more readers? I know I just started this blog so I'm not really expecting anything extravagent(sp?)...just a few people. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

So it's finally Friday!! I couldn't be happier!! I can't wait for the greek festival tonight....hope it isn't still raining!! So last night I did so many squats and lunges that my legs felt like jelly! I love that feeling because at least you know you're doing something..hehe. This morning I had a vanilla Chobani greek yogurt topped with flax seeds and granola...it was so yummy! I can't believe one cup of yogurt has 16g of protein!! Crazy! I really like Chobani and I think I will continue to buy that brand in the future. The only problem is I still have flax seed in my teeth...gross!

This weekend my boyfriend and I might take Marlee, his boston terrier, to the dog park for the first time! I was reading about it online and it says you have to bring their records to make sure they've had all their shots, etc. You can either pay $24 for a year long membership or a $4 charge each time you come. I think Marlee would loooove being able to run around off her leash with a bunch of other dogs. She gets along so well with other animals and I think she will absolutely LOVE it! I can't wait to take her!

Another exciting bit of news...I might be buying this car for sale in my neighborhood! It's a 2000 Isuzu Rodeo and it's silver with 102k miles.....the man is asking 3300 but I think I can talk him down! I really hope it works out in my favor because I really need this car right now! Gotta love some Miley Cyrus..hahaha! So I took and awesome trip to Earth Fare and that place is amazing! So much good healthy stuff! I could have browsed around forever! But I got a few goodies such as:

For some reason I like spinach better than lettuce...I don't know why but I do. It's so good in salads though! I also snacked on a Luna Bar before lunch. Right now I'm just doing some studying...nothing too exciting! BUT tomorrow is FRIDAY!!!! YES finally the weekend!! And the Greek Festival which I'm excited about too! So this morning I had a big bowl of Quaker Apples and Cinnamon oatmeal with a big glob of all natural peanut butter! The peanut butter makes it really thick and yummy and what's a better combo than apples and peanut butter....NOTHING!! Yumm Yumm

Wow! I am so tired after my long class and spending some time with my wonderful boyfriend! I didn't really eat dinner which is kind of bad but I did a bunch of snacking during class and drank lots of water so I wasn't really that hungry. I took a break from working out tonight but I plan on doing it tomorrow. I think 4 days a week should be a pretty good start and maybe I can work up to 5 days a week! But for right now I need a little break because I have blisters everywhere! Ouch! I need to get some running shoes...any suggestions on some good brands??

Some of my snackage included:

Strawberry Soy Joy bar- I don't know if I really liked it or not...it kind of tasted like a hard chewy muffin in bar form. Maybe I will have to try another flavor and see but it tasted super fruity and sweet to me.

Breyer's yo crunch 100 calorie yogurt cups with cookie crumb topping....sooo yummy like cookie dough ice cream except with yogurt and ONLY 100 calorie! Go buy some it's so good!

Luna Bar...I think this was caramel turtle brownie(?)...it was SO GOOD...it tastes kind of like german chocolate cake! I love Luna Bars because all the flavors are so yummy!

Hey! So today I took granny to the doctor which wasn't too exciting. Trust me, going places with a 101 year old is NOT easy! But we survived and she is catching up on her soaps..haha! Side note....WHY are doctor's offices always FREEZING! I swear my teeth were chattering by the time we left! No wonder the people that work there had on sweaters!

I was in a hurry this morning so I ate a White Chocolate Macadamia Luna bar. OMG....soo yummy!

I will certainly buy those again!

When we got home I started on some homework for Business Law. I actually like that class and find it so interesting...the law is def. not what you think it is! Good stuff to know if you ever get in a sticky situation...if ya know what I mean!

For lunch I had the same thing as yesterday...a salad with cukes, romaine, red onion, tomatoes, and some yummy feta cheese! I love feta but it smells so STINKY! Also for dessert I had these delicious Emerald cocoa roast almonds. They come in these little 100 calorie pack so they're the perfect size for snacking!

I'm also excited because this weekend I'm going with my boyfriend and maybe some other people to the Greek Festival! They have it every year in Columbia at the Greek Orthodox Church and they have such good greek food and they also have other stuff like little souveniers to buy and they have dancers and stuff like that. It's really fun but mostly I go for the food..haha! They have stuff like gyros and souvlakia, baklava, typical greek food. I can't wait!

Also last night I did a hard workout..for me at least! I'm just trying to get into an exercise routine but I'm proud of myself so far! I ran for 10 minutes and walked for 1 minute for 54 minutes! I know that's not a long time to most people but I was wiped out! I also came home and did some pushups and crunches and I also lifted some weights. My feet are so blistered today! I think I need to get some running shoes and maybe that will help! Anyway I'm gonna go finish up some homework but I will be back later tonight after I'm out of class..which isn't til 8:45!

So I had dinner at 6:00pm tonight... am I turning into granny or what? LOL! I had a yummy sandwich on wheat bread with mustard, ham, muenster cheese, lettuce, tomato, and avocado! I also had some soy crisps on the side.

Then this bad boy for dessert...a yummy Mojo dipped chocolate peanut bar!! YUMM

Can someone please give me some tips on how to format my blog and stuff because I am so lost! I wanna make it look better and be able to put the pictures where I want but I can't figure out how! If you have any words of wisdom that would be greatly appreciated!

Ok so during the day I work taking care of my GREAT GREAT grandma...yes you read that right! She lives with my grandmother and I help take care of her during the day while my grandmother is at work. My great great grandmother, or granny as we call her, just turned 101 on September 8th! Incredible right? The crazier thing is that she is in wonderful health! She is a perfect example of what a healthy lifestyle can do for you! She still walks everyday for exercise! She said her best advice is everything in moderation! Well I don't know about you but I think that's some great advice! Love you Granny!

Healthy Start!

Hey blog world! This is my first post ever! Well I stumbled onto a blog called Kath Eats a while ago and I've been reading blogs ever since! I finally decided that since I'm trying to start a healthier lifestyle that I should start a blog too. It seems like an awesome way to hold on to memories, help keep myself accountable for what I eat and how much I work out and it just seems like fun! Well enough about that on to the eats for today...

I started my day with an Oikos greek yogurt which was blueberry flavored...this was my first time ever trying this yogurt and I loved it! So thick and creamy and delicious! I also had a banana that was on it's last leg. (Sorry the pics are so grainy...they are from my phone!)

Last night I also went to Bi-Lo to stock up on some healthy goodies that I've seen on other blogs!

2 bags of soycrisps (ranch and cheddar) 2 larabars (cashew cookie and peanut butter cookie) 2 tiger's milk bars (peanut butter and chocolate) 1 Mojo dipped Clif bar and 1 luna bar ( white chocolate macadamia)

And for lunch today I had a salad with romaine, cucumbers, tomatoes, red onion, feta, and a little Italian dressing !

Hopefully I will have another post a little later around dinner time!
